Our theme for Aistear this month is the Shopping Centre. Children are really enjoying all the activities they get to do each day.
This week we are celebrating science week in the Chestnut Class. We were using straws to do blow paint art and all the beautiful pictures can be seen displayed outside our classroom. There will be more pictures from the different activities to follow. Before the break we had a dress up day were if the children wished they could come to school dress as whatever they wished. Some came as superheroes, some as princesses and some as their favourite book character. This week in school is Science Week. On Thursday morning the 17th of November we will be having a Science for fun morning. We are inviting all parents to come into the class to help with some fun Science activities and experiments.

When: 6-7.30pm Tuesday 22nd November Where: School Hall Who: Everyone welcome Tickets: €5 (single) €10 (family) Our first movie night of the year takes place on Tuesday 22nd November! The Student Council voted for the movie and Zootropolis was chosen. The screening will take place in the school hall on the big projector just like at the cinema! Everyone is welcome to bring a cushion so they can get comfy on the floor! Children are welcome to bring snacks and there will be a tuck shop selling treats on the night too. Children are welcome to bring along siblings and friends. Tickets: €5 (single) €10 (family) will be on sale outside the school every morning and afternoon. Tickets are also on sale online: https://www.aladdin.ie/p/11451761 ! This week we had a fantastic week of Maths fun. WE made shape robots using our best cutting, gluing and colouring skills. On Wednesday we were very lucky to have some parents come in to join us for our Maths for fun morning. Then to finish off the week we did a maths shape hunt outside in the school grounds. There will be plenty of opportunities over the year for parental involvement so if you were unable to make it in this week do not be disappointed there is plenty more to come. Thanks to those who did come in we really appreciated the help. Enjoy the pictures This week we are celebrating maths week. We will be doing many different maths based activities each day such as a maths trail around the grounds of the school. maths artwork and maths for fun. Parents are invited into the classroom on Wednesday morning the 19th of October were we will be playing different maths games. All parents are welcome to come in. It will run from 8;30am- 9:00am. Even if you can only make it in for a couple of minutes it would be great to see as many of you there as possible. Last week as part of road safety week we were very lucky to have a visitor come in to talk to the class on the importance of being careful on the road. We got some really valuable new information and heard some very good stories. All the children were very happy to receive road safety stickers and a colouring book. This week we have been looking at sorting in maths. Here are some pictures from the classroom activities.
