Each week on a Friday there will be a school assembly held by Helena. One class each week does a performance for the rest of the class. There is then a discussion about different things that have been happening in the school over the past week or in the coming weeks. It is a great opportunity for the school community to come together and become closer as a group. This was our very first email in the brand new hall and it was a great occasion for the children to be part of.
This week having settled in so well to the routines of school we discussed what we could use scissors for. Having discussed the appropriate and safe way to use the scissors we cut out our eggs. We were learning the Nursery Rhyme of 'Humpty Dumpty' so the children practiced putting Humpty back together again having cut the picture apart. Excellent participation and work by everybody in the class. Well done!!! Here are some pictures of the brilliant work. We would like to extend a big welcome to the new Chestnut Class for the 2016/2017 school year. We got off to a great start this morning everybody was really excited and had a great mornings fun. Please keep an eye on the Blog for day to day updates of the work, fun, trips and celebrations that will be happening in the school over the year. We place a lot of emphasis on parental involvement in Powerstown E.T.N.S. so if you are interested in helping out in any way then please let us know. I look forward to working with children and families during the year ahead. If you have any questions at any time, please don't hesitate to drop in after school or contact me at [email protected] First few days in junior infantsWe have had a great start to Junior Infants in the Chestnut Class.
